Apple Walnut Bars
- 2 cups dried fruit raisins, papaya, apples
- 2 cups walnuts, filberts, or sesame seeds
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp flavoring (if desired)
Food Processor: Cut fruit into small pieces, toss into the food processor; add nuts or seeds, blend until ball forms. Use the metal chopping blade.
Blender: Cut up fruit, place in blender and chop fine. Chop nuts separately, mix with fruit. Use sturdy spoon to mix and knead, or use fingers. If too dry to mix well, a small amount of water or juice can be added. Batter will be very stiff.
Press firmly onto oiled pie pan or cookie sheet, cut in squares; or place on waxed paper; form into 2" roll, or in little balls- roll in additional chopped nuts or seeds; wrap logs in waxed paper or foil (shiny side next to food). Chill and slice as needed. Store in refrigerator.
